This year, Jackson High School students performed the heart-warming musical, White Christmas, to honor and commemorate the sacrifices of World War II veterans and active military personnel.
The show was an adaptation of the famed 1954 film featuring Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye, and Vera Ellen.
“In addition to celebrating World War II heroes, the students are collecting messages to send to active duty U.S. Navy members during the holidays,” said Susie Gardner, Jackson School for the Arts director.
Jackson High School is one of 169 schools in the state who renewed their Purple Star designation with the Ohio Department of Education this year.
The honor recognizes a commitment to serving students and families connected to the armed forces.
